Weather: Rain over Bicol, Visayas, Mindanao in next 24 hours, PAGASA says Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms loom over Bicol and the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao in the next 24 hours, state weather forecasters said Thursday afternoon. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said this is aside from the flash floods and landslides that continue to be a possibility in parts of northern and Central Luzon. "Bicol region and the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao will be mostly cloudy with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms. The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms," it said in its 5 p.m. bulletin. Northern and Central Luzon will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rain showers becoming cloudy with widespread rains over the eastern section, which PAGASA may trigger flash floods and landslides. Meanwhile, PAGASA said moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast with slight to moderate seas. – KBK, GMA News
