LOS ANGELES -Hollywood newcomer Colin Trevorrow was named on Thursday as the Director of the long-awaited fourth installment of dinosaur film franchise "Jurassic Park".
Universal Pictures said that Steven Spielberg, that the first two films in the $ 1.9 billion worldwide franchise, the Executive producer of will directed "Jurassic Park 4" will not directly.
Trevorrow, 36, is little known in Hollywood. He directed the independent film "Safety not guaranteed," featured on the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, and had previously made a TV film and documentary.
Universal said "Jurassic Park 4" will be made in 3D, but has not announced a Release date.
Spielberg in 2011 announced that a fourth film in development, and speculation was rife as to whether he would instantly had been.
The original "Jurassic Park," first released in 1993 will come back American cinemas in April in a 3D-conversion.
Universal, a unit of Comcast Corp., gave no details of casting or the plot for "Jurassic Park 4." — Reuters
