shows por alla.

News Report:

‘Horrible’ traffic as travelers come back to Manila after Lenten break

Long queues formed at expressways leading to Metro Manila on Sunday afternoon as travelers continued to return from their Holy Week vacation in the provinces.

Tweets by the Toll Regulatory Board as of 5 p.m. indicated the queues stretched up to 20 km long at the STAR Tollway, and 8 to 9 kms at the North Luzon Expressway.

As of 5:05 p.m., the TRB said the STAR Tollway's Sto. Tomas toll plaza northbound had a queue of about 20 km, while traffic was light to moderate at the rest of the tollway main line and toll plazas.

It added that as of 4:59 p.m., the queue at the Calamba toll plaza northbound was 1.5 km long while that at Ayala toll plaza northbound stretched for 200 meters.

On the other hand, the Bocaue toll plaza's southbound part at the NLEX saw a queue of 1 km, and a queue of "8 to 9 km" at the San Simon area as of 4:59 p.m.

Heavy traffic has also been reported at the Mabalacat exit of the  Subic–Clark–Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX).

Meanwhile, at the SLEX, a queue of vehicles stretching 1.7 kilometers has been reported at the northbound lane of Calamba toll plaza, indicating heavy traffic.

A tweet by GMA News' Joseph Morong as of 4:43 p.m. showed the long lines of vehicles at the Bocaue toll plaza.

Traffic was also "horrible" from Tagaytay with both lanes occupied in some parts of Silang in Cavite, GMA News' Victoria Tulad added.
