Thanks for the great video! The AC had me stumped as to why my watch wasn't
turning on after a new battery! Never woulda guessed! Now its working
perfect :)

Skip to 5:08 if you are here to see how to turn the dumb thing back on
again.
Also, a little bow string wax on the gasket will help keep it waterproof.

Good never would have found the AC point, or how to remove the

I have a module 2548 G-Shock that acts very weirdly. I came back to this
tutorial to remember how to reset it after it blanked out again (beyond
recovery by pressing buttons). This time the reset (all clear) did not
recover the display (although I first connected the battery to the watch
housing with my steel forceps and that might have short-circuited things).
So I took the battery clip off, the battery rose up 2mm, I had no plastic
forceps to remove the battery all the way, so I reclosed the battery clip
and, voila, the display returned. So my point here is that these watches
are computers, computers have power situations, and any disturbance to the
power supply disrupts the computing. This watch periodically blanks out,
as if it had power-saving, which it does not (according to the user's
manual). So maybe I'm wrong and this watch has a software problem. What
do I know?
For the moment it is working again. It is my jogging watch. I wear my
25-year-old DW-5700 (module 691) for regular purposes. I replaced the
bezel on it; the original battery keeps going. Not only is its case like a
bank vault, but it has none of the newer watch's behavioral peculiarities.
But that all is part of the fun. Thanks.

News Report:

UAAP board confirms rules amendments but declines to reveal specifics

The UAAP board has agreed to amend several league rules in the face of controversy surrounding its two-year residency period for high school graduate transferees, but new secretary-treasurer Rod Roque of Season 77 host University of the East declined to say what these are.

Following a marathon board meeting on Wednesday, Roque refused to divulge the proposed changes, as each board member will still have to report to their respective school heads about the matter.

“There are a lot of amendments. However, we cannot disclose yet as we have to report to our respective presidents first,” said Roque in an SMS message.

The UAAP, according to informed sources, is already willing to drop the two-year residency rule for transferring high school graduates in lieu of laws against player piracy and commercialization of the league.

Spin.ph also reported that the board is set to limit teams to only one foreign student athlete in its basketball lineup per season.

Calls for amendments to UAAP rules reached the halls of the Senate with Sen. Pia Cayetano filing Senate Bill 2166 or the Magna Carta for Student Athletes to protect athletes from malpractices in the collegiate leagues.

Once the bill is enacted into law, several rules in the collegiate leagues including the two-year residency rule in the UAAP will automatically be outlawed. - Reuben Terrado, SPIN
